How-to

Knowledge

How to give Titleman your playbooks, principles and facts about your firm once, so every run works with them, and how to check and correct what it took from them.

What it does

Knowledge is your personal knowledge base: paste it once, and every future run works with it. Playbooks, investment principles, facts about you and your company, files you want remembered. Titleman reads each item down to its takeaways and keeps three summaries you can read and edit: about you, about your company, and from your files.

When to use it

Use it for what should shape every run: your buy box, your underwriting rules, the way your firm writes. For files a single run needs — this deal's rent roll — use Vault and attach them to that run.

How to use it

  1. Open Knowledge under Data in the left list.
  2. Under Add to knowledge, give it a title if you like (for example "Acquisition playbook"), then paste the text, or + Attach files (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, TXT, MD).
  3. Press Save to knowledge. Each document shows Summarizing… and then Ready.
  4. Read the three cards — What I know about you, What I know about your company, What I know from your files — and press Edit to correct any of them, then Save.
  5. Optional: Enrich from the web looks you and your company up; what it finds is shown separately under From the web.

What you get back

Runs that start from your rules instead of generic ones. The three summaries are rebuilt when you add or delete a document; Rebuild from documents rebuilds one on demand. Your own edits are never overwritten silently: a card you edited says Your edit.
