A financial model delivered as a spreadsheet rather than as a report — for when you want to open the file and change the assumptions yourself.
How to run it
Write a brief naming the property. You can supply your own template workbook and the model is then built into your format.
What comes back
A workbook on 43% of runs in the last thirty days, plus a canvas report. Cost is low — median under a credit — and the median run is under a minute, because much of the work is assembling something already computed.
The honest caveat, up front
Excel is the fourth most common thing clients ask us for, and this product is the answer to it — but it does not yet have a client track record we can point to. Every workbook it produced in the last thirty days was on one of our own runs.
If you want a workbook with proven client delivery behind it, that is Value Opinion: 73% of its runs produce one, and 6 of the 8 produced in the last thirty days went to clients.
Do
- Say what the model is for. An acquisition model, a hold/sell comparison and a lender pack want different sheets.
- Send your template if you have one, and expect to check the result.
- Tell us which assumptions you will want to flex. Those are the cells that should be inputs rather than hard numbers.
Do not
- Do not assume your template will survive the round trip. Building into a client template is supported and is not reliable — one firm reported to us, twice, that the model did not work in their own workbook. We will try, and we will tell you plainly if it did not hold.
- Do not treat the workbook as audited. It is a model with its inputs shown, the same as everything else we produce. Check the cells the decision rests on.
